This couple was one of my first “stranger” clients a couple years ago when I was still trying to grow my business. Referred to me by a mutual friend, Erika & Chris took a chance on the then newbie photographer they didn’t know and asked me to do their engagement pictures. It’s because of client’s like them that trusted me and my talent, that I was able to start growing my business. Now they have been married for over a year, have purchased their first home, and needed some Christmas card pictures. After two years of lovey-dovey engagement and wedding photos, we kept the session simple and captured some intimate moments in their new home. I’m excited to continue capturing not only their love story, but their life story as well in the years to come!
More often than not, I’m photographing couples who have just recently gotten engaged. I’m not saying that their love isn’t real, but the recent proposal and excitement of marriage has to amplify the lovey-dovey emotions, making for amazing engagement pictures. So when I met up with Tina & Nick, I didn’t know what to expect. First because I had never met them prior to their session. And second because I have never photographed a couple (without children) that has been married for some time. Tina & Nick just celebrated their five year wedding anniversary, but I was thrilled to find that there was no shortage of lovey-dovey emotions! These two not only had me laughing and smiling the entire session, but each other, and it made for the best session! I enjoyed every minute spending the evening with them in Morrison!
This was my first wedding at the River Bend in Lyons. The Lyons Farmette purchased the land after the terrible flooding that happened last year and turned it into a wedding venue to help start bringing restoration to the area. It was a gorgeous venue and perfect for Sam & Mike’s party! The most important thing to this couple was to have fun and enjoy celebrating their day. Let me just say, they did it right! Complete with a pig roast, fire pit, lawn games and some of the best Colorado beer, their guests were in for the time of their lives! And of course my favorite part was the lavender honey they gave as gifts to their guests. I’m a sucker for anything lavender! Following the wedding, Sam and Mike left on a long adventure across Switzerland and Italy – a couple straight from my own heart! I loved getting to know these two, and I know they are in for more amazing adventures as they share their life together!
