Chelsea, Conor & Baby – Colorado Adventure Photographer

I wouldn’t say that I’m your typical family and maternity photographer. In fact, I steered clear of that for a very long time. Not that I don’t love babies, because I do. I just hadn’t connected with that life event yet, so I felt like it was super difficult for me to photograph. And if there is anything I need when I’m shooting, it’s a connection. I truly believe that how I do what I do.

After being a wedding photographer (and now an intimate wedding and elopement photographer) for nearly eight years, a lot of my close clients turned friends started having children of their own – people I already had amazing connections with. And lucky for me, a lot of them became Jessica Christie fans for life! So I had to get real comfortable with maternity and newborn and family photos real fast as they all started calling on me to document this next adventure in their life! Seriously though, could I be any luckier?! And even more exciting, because I already had a connection with them, I was able to immediately fall right into a creative rhythm!

Chelsea and Conor were two of those people that came back to me. I was so excited to shoot their maternity photos because knowing Chelsea, I knew they’d want me to push my creativity. It was time to take maternity photos to a whole new level of weirdness and get rid of that typical flowy, airy shit. So this is one maternity session I had to share even though elopements and intimate weddings are my jam. And if you do come to me for some maternity or family photos, you can be sure that it will be something unique and rad (see below)!
