Rachael, Cameron & Charlie – Colorado Maternity Session

In honor of beautiful little Charlie being born today, I had to finish up and post Rachael & Cameron’s sun-drenched maternity session. I met Rachael a little over a year ago on the job. She is a very talented hair and make up artist that I have the privilege of working with all the time. And what’s even better than being colleagues is becoming friends. So I was thrilled to capture this moment in Rachael & Cameron’s lives as they welcome their first baby into the world! Love you guys and pretty Charlie!

Ani & Marshall – Eldorado Canyon Elopement – Destination Wedding Photographer

Ani reached out to me a couple months ago. Her and Marshall were planning a vacation to Colorado to visit some friends and decided that Colorado would be the perfect setting to go ahead and tie the knot. In a month’s time, they had arranged their elopement, making it very intimate. They shared their vows privately as the sun set after having this beautiful session with me in Eldorado Canyon.  And Ani, being the tom-boy she actually is, had no problem taking off her shoes and climbing on any and every rock I asked her to…in her dress! We had such a great time, and I appreciate so much being included in their elopement! Ani & Marshall, wishing you all the best and sending as much love as I can to Indianapolis!

Dilyana & William – Savannah Wedding – Destination Wedding Photographer

I have been so excited to share this wedding from Savannah, GA! It was so much fun to have another change of pace from Colorado mountains, and the gorgeous moss-filled trees did the trick. Being Dilyana & William’s photographer came by chance. Her maid of honor had reached out to me asking about something completely unrelated to wedding photos. I had asked her if her friends had found a photographer for their wedding yet, mentioning that I’d love to go to Georgia! Unfortunately, they had already booked one, so I put that idea to bed.

Only a couple short weeks later, I received an email from Dilyana in a complete panic. They had just finished their engagement photos in Georgia, and they were nothing that she wanted or dreamed her wedding photos would be. She expressed to me that as soon as she saw my website, she knew I should be their photographer. And am I more than happy they picked me! Not only did I get to photograph an amazingly gorgeous southern wedding, but I also got the amazing privilege to get to know Dilyana & William, who have now become some really great friends! Sometimes things are meant to be, and I think meeting these two, was just that. Love you guys!

Rachel & John – Echo Lake Engagement – Colorado Wedding Photographer

If there is one thing that Colorado has taught me this year, it’s that you can never predict the weather. Ever. You have to be prepared for snow, rain, heat, and cold every single day – especially as a natural light photographer.  I have never had to reschedule more engagement sessions than I have at the beginning of this summer. Fortunately though, I also have great clients that entertain my creative side and let me shoot in the elements anyway, even if it’s for half an hour or so.

Rachel and John envisioned a beautiful Echo Lake engagement session full of green trees and bright sunshine, but as we drove from Denver, we realized that we were in fact entering into a winter wonderland – in mid-May! We didn’t even have coats! But being one of those amazing couples I mentioned already, they agreed to let me shoot anyways under the pretense that we’d finish the more summery part of the session later. So after about 45 minutes, soaking wet hair and frozen toes, we got the first gorgeous set of photos you see below. And despite the conditions, Rachel & John killed it! Fortunately, the forecast for the weekend looked much better on Sunday (only three days later), so we stayed away from high elevations and went to Fox Run in Colorado Springs to finish capturing their love.

I’m looking forward to their wedding in November – which may or may not be snow free. You just never know with Colorado! But regardless, their love and laughter will warm any moment!
