There is something to be said for a wedding that not only touches your heart but reaches into your soul. This wedding opened my eyes in many ways. It challenged my spiritual walk with God, pushing me to seek him more. It showed me the way love is supposed to be, unselfish and unconditional. And left me wanting to pursue giving and receiving real love, both from God and in life. A truly humbling experience. It is amazing what two peoples’ love for God and for each other can do in the lives of those around them. I will never ever forget Beth & Adam’s wedding and will always be grateful for having the precious opportunity to be a part of it! See their engagement session here.
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues,
they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child.
When I became a man, I put the ways of childhoodbehind me.
For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.
Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
(1 Corinthians 13:4-13)
This session combined two of my most favorite parts of the job: 1) new amazing places and 2) a fun, loving, gorgeous couple! Courtney & Michael took me on a small adventure to Long Lake in the Brainard Lake Recreational Area. The original plan was to head to Lake Isabelle, but with the late snow melt we’ve had this year, lack of cell service to meet up, and too long of a hike, we “settled” for Long Lake. And if that is settling, I’ll take it! We hiked about half a mile and the views were spectacular from every direction. Not to mention hanging out with these two love birds and their adorable pup, Foster, made the evening that much more amazing! I cannot wait until their wedding next month. Hopefully there are a few less mosquitos and a lot more laughs to go around.
