More often than not, I’m photographing couples who have just recently gotten engaged. I’m not saying that their love isn’t real, but the recent proposal and excitement of marriage has to amplify the lovey-dovey emotions, making for amazing engagement pictures. So when I met up with Tina & Nick, I didn’t know what to expect. First because I had never met them prior to their session. And second because I have never photographed a couple (without children) that has been married for some time. Tina & Nick just celebrated their five year wedding anniversary, but I was thrilled to find that there was no shortage of lovey-dovey emotions! These two not only had me laughing and smiling the entire session, but each other, and it made for the best session! I enjoyed every minute spending the evening with them in Morrison!

This was my first wedding at the River Bend in Lyons. The Lyons Farmette purchased the land after the terrible flooding that happened last year and turned it into a wedding venue to help start bringing restoration to the area. It was a gorgeous venue and perfect for Sam & Mike’s party! The most important thing to this couple was to have fun and enjoy celebrating their day. Let me just say, they did it right! Complete with a pig roast, fire pit, lawn games and some of the best Colorado beer, their guests were in for the time of their lives! And of course my favorite part was the lavender honey they gave as gifts to their guests. I’m a sucker for anything lavender! Following the wedding, Sam and Mike left on a long adventure across Switzerland and Italy – a couple straight from my own heart! I loved getting to know these two, and I know they are in for more amazing adventures as they share their life together!

For Tiffany & Kyle’s one year anniversary, they decided to put back on their wedding attire and relive their day all over again with a room booked at the Lumber Baron Inn and gorgeous fall colors. And I have to say, they warmed the entire shoot with their ever-growing love. These two dated for nine years and have been married for one, and it was so amazing to see how much love was still between the two of the them. It literally brought tears to my eyes as I looked through my view finder to capture each moment.  I wish I could have been there for their real wedding, but I am so thankful that I was able to share this special day with them.

When Dom first emailed me, I was sure it was some email spam (something that I have dealt with before). It’s not everyday I get an email from a couple that lives in the UK and looking to travel and elope to Colorado. We actually emailed back and forth a few times before I started to realize that this was a legitimate couple looking for a photographer, and when I did, I was so excited to meet Helen and Dom. One of the many things I love about my job is the people I get to meet. I now have clients in five different countries, but Helen and Dom were the first couple that came from another country to me.

Their elopement took place as part of a three week camper vacation all over Colorado. They planned the whole thing all the way from across the Atlantic with a few Skype meeting here and there. Together we found the perfect location in Vail for them to exchange their vows and devote their lives to one another mid-vacation. Elopements hold a special place in my heart because more than I not, I am one of the only other people there. This is something I never take lightly and treasure that my couple’s choose to share that sacred and special moment with me. I absolutely loved spending this special day with Helen and Dom and will never forget it!
